Coin of Ancestry - Onyx

I forge these coins on Wednesday, or Odin’s day. My intent with these coins is twofold. I wanted to make a token that someone could carry in their pocket or ware, whichever suits them better. These coins are forged with a hole in the center. This i my attempt to impart into them the essence of stones with a natural hole. Called Holey stones, witch stones, hag stones, or Odin’s Eye, they are known for bringing protection to the owner. Using your left eye, looking through the hole is said to allow one to see what is hidden, or danger, or deceit.
The second purpose of this coin is to connect the owner with their ancestors and ancestral wisdom. I chanted in prayers of connection to all those who have come before, and for this coin to be an opening to emotion, to healing and healthy grief, to joy, to feel everything deeply and well that connects us to our past. I poured into it all I know and have learned of my emotional connections to those we have lost, and those who have come before. Not just our genetic ancestors, but the ancestors of our paths, our work, our crafts, and our connections and spiritual realms.
This coin is made from stainless steel with three 4mm Onyx stones. Onyx is known for protection and for its connection with fortune. Onyx is said to help one find strength, decisiveness, and to aid in balance. Often used to bring good fortune, though protecting against harm and absorbing negative energies.
