Hathor was one of the most prominent goddesses in Egypt's Old Kingdom. She was the prototypical sacred cow, with maternal and celestial aspects. Mother to the gods, she had both benevolent and vengeful sides. In her benevolent side, she represented music, dance, joy, love, sexuality and maternal care, along with crossing between worlds and helping souls transition to the afterlife. In her traditional images, she carries a sun disk between her horns.
I forge my Hathor pendants on Sunday. The bead is copper super heated and quenched in borax which turns it red. Each bead is unique and the color will very. I chant into each forged piece a request for Hathor's blessing, for abundance and prosperity.
